We have an opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our Mississauga team. The Accounting Manager oversees accounting operations and financial reporting, supported by a team of four direct reports. Reporting to the VP, Finance & Business Performance, they are a highly valued team member that collaborates across all departments, lines of business and regions. They apply their expertise in accounting, business processes and internal controls to help all Rodan teams operate seamlessly.

**This is a flexible hybrid role, requiring approximately 2 days in our Mississauga office and 3 days remotely**

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking and month end close activities
  • Collaborate with other teams throughout the company, including Operations and Business Development, to share information and track business performance
  • Motivate and lead the accounting team, planning all work activities and reviewing key outputs to ensure timely and accurate completion
  • Prepare complex journal entries, including intercompany entries
  • Consolidate subsidiary results from across North America and prepare the annual consolidated financial statements
  • Manage the annual external audit process
  • Prepare and present monthly reporting to the Leadership Team, highlighting actual performance compared to the annual budget and explaining key variance drivers
  • Prepare quarterly and annual bank reporting, including covenant calculations, business updates and commentary
  • Administer the QuickBooks Desktop financial system, maintaining charts of accounts and other master data
  • Work with external advisors to ensure tax compliance, including routine sales tax filings and installment payments
  • Develop, maintain and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ASPE and strong internal controls
  • Support the annual budgeting process and monthly rolling forecast, working closely with the VP Finance & Business Performance and Senior Financial Analyst
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation
  • Perform financial analysis to support new business opportunities and strategic objectives
  • Support and lead special projects

 Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager or a similar role
  • 6+ years of combined experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
  • Qualified as a Canadian CPA and knowledgeable of ASPE and/or IFRS standards
  • Intermediate or higher Excel skills and experience using Excel for analysis and reporting
  • Strong experience with accounting software and systems, such as acting in administrator or super-user roles, and including QuickBooks and Salesforce
  • Experience working across departments to drive process improvement and automation
