To fuel our expansion and drive market success, we have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Financial Analyst.

Job Information:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be the bridge between Rodan Energy’s Finance team and the Business Development and Operations functions of the company.  You are the go-to person for special projects requiring multi-disciplinary analysis. You learn quickly, are process-oriented and an Excel expert, with strong attention to detail.

Rodan fosters a culture that promotes health and wellness and encourages work-life balance.  This is a flexible hybrid role where you are required to work both remotely and in person depending on business needs.  You will be required to work at our Corporate HQ in Mississauga a minimum of 2 days per week in addition to attending and participating in workshops, projects, or team meetings.

Main Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Deliver monthly sales reporting and analysis and calculate quarterly sales commissions to drive sales growth
  • Analyze profitability of lines of businesses, service offerings, customer contracts and other business opportunities, including designing and implementing new reporting processes
  • Support energy program settlements through detailed review
  • Prepare complex accounting entries and analysis related to energy settlements, software development, intercompany transactions, goodwill and more
  • Support the annual corporate budgeting process and monthly forecast updates, working directly with the Leadership Team
  • Take a leading role in the administration of software used for data collection, including finance, time tracking and sales systems (QuickBooks, Journyx, Salesforce)
  • Leverage tools, including Power BI, to turn data into insight, tracking financial and operational metrics
  • Maintain and develop tools to support Business Development, including internal Excel-based templates for project quotes and margin analysis as well as customer facing sales tools
  • Research new business opportunities and support/coordinate related administrative processes, such as financial due diligence for M&A opportunities
  • Analyze and document processes across the company, with a focus on continuous improvement, and recommend and implement process improvements
  • Complete ad-hoc financial analysis and tool development to support all areas of the business
  • Support and lead special projects

Due to the growth of Rodan, you must be willing to turn your hand to other tasks depending on business needs.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, including courses in finance and accounting
  • CPA qualification or currently pursuing CPA qualification
  • 3 – 5 years experience as a financial analyst or similar role
  • Intermediate or higher Excel skills and experience using it for analysis, modeling and reporting
  • Experience developing formal reports, models and presentations that are professional and tailored to users needs
  • Experience reviewing, assessing, documenting processes and implementing improvements
  • Experience researching topics and presenting findings
  • Exposure to Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot or similar tools
  • Willingness to acquire industry knowledge

Note: Post-graduate training, certification or designation in finance or accounting is a bonus, but not required. The VP, Finance is an experienced CPA mentor who can support the candidate in completing the CPA training program.
