To fuel our expansion and drive market success, we have an exciting opportunity available for Manager, Technical Services.

Job Information:

Reporting into the President & CEO, you will be responsible for managing a team of highly skilled metering and electrical technicians in providing power systems, telemetry, communications and associated technical services to our clients, including electrical distribution utilities, power producers and large commercial and industrial energy users. Your role will involve strategic planning, team management, customer engagement, and continuous improvement of service delivery processes.  Please note this position is fully in-office  with no option to work remotely.

Main Responsibilities & Duties:

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of metering technicians, scheduler and support professionals
  • Set clear objectives, provide guidance, and ensure the team’s performance meets or exceeds expectations
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages innovation and growth
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to product and services

Service Delivery Management:

  • Manage work assignments to ensure optimal utilization of team members and contractors in delivering projects safely, on time and on budget
  • Develop and/or oversee project plans and resources for equipment installation, customer care and ongoing maintenance to meet project scope and client requirements
  • Responsible for new construction projects and maintenance/testing services in high voltage environments
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure the effective and timely delivery of projects
  • Oversee the end-to-end service delivery process, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing support
  • Monitor service level expectations and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure client satisfaction and operational excellence
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of service delivery
  • Maintain a safe and healthy workplace including proper work procedures, documentation, safety standards, training, safety audits and compliance monitoring
  • Forecasting, planning and operational excellence to achieve and exceed business performance goals

Customer Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering and sales to ensure seamless delivery of services and alignment with client objectives
  • Support the business development team with RFP responses, developing scope of work, and pricing projects.

Due to the growth of Rodan, you must be willing to turn your hand to other tasks depending on business needs.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related technical field (e.g. electrical engineering, electrical technician/technologist), or other relevant work experience.
  • C.E.T., P. Eng, CEM or other relevant designations is an asset
  • Background in electrical power distribution, metering, protection and control, communications, and electrical systems
  • 5+ years related work experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of OHSA, EUSA and ESA regulations, Utility Work Protection Code, WHMIS, and other applicable legislation
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, CRM, MS Project)
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance
