Small and diverse businesses drive our economy on both
the national and local levels.

Promoting an environment for these businesses to thrive is important to Rodan Energy Solutions, and we are taking steps to accomplish this by fostering an inclusive procurement process that provides the maximum opportunity for small and diverse businesses to participate as partners and suppliers of goods and services. An additional benefit of ensuring that these suppliers are included in the procurement process is increased competition, which leads to lower costs and increased levels of innovation, service, and product quality.

By utilizing and partnering with small and diverse companies, Rodan will continue to build a supplier base that contributes to our competitive advantage.

Rodan is interested in engaging with businesses that fall into one or more of the following diversity categories:

  • Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB)
  • Service-disabled Veteran-owned Businesses (SDVBE)
  • Veteran-owned Businesses (VBE)
  • Woman-owned Business Enterprises (WBE)
  • Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB Zone)
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender-owned Business Enterprises (LGBTBE)
  • Disability-owned Business Enterprises
  • Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE)

These businesses must be at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by persons who fit into one of these categories. MBE, WBE, LGBTBE and SDVOB businesses must be certified as such by an independent certification agency. Owners of businesses that fall into the other categories must be willing to sign a self-classification affidavit.

    Small Business: A small business is one that conducts businesses in the United States, and which operates primarily within the United States or makes a significant contribution to the U.S. economy through payment of taxes or use of American products, materials or labor. The business cannot be dominant in its field on a national basis. The most common size standard is a business with less than 500 employees (including its affiliate’s employees).

    Small-Disadvantaged Business: A small disadvantaged business is one that is at least 51 percent owned by one or more individuals who are both socially and economically disadvantaged.

    Service Disabled Veteran Business: A small business that is at least 51% owned by one or more service disabled veterans.

    Veteran Owned Business: A small business that is at least 51% owned by one or more veterans.

    Women Owned Business: A small business that is at least 51% owned by one or more women.

    Historically Underutilized Business (HUBZone): An area where demographics shows the labor surplus far exceeds the businesses needs for labors. The HUBZone program provides federal contracting opportunities for qualified small businesses. Such businesses that are located in distressed areas. Fostering the growth of these federal contractors as viable businesses helps empower.

    Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender-owned Business Enterprises: A small business that is at least 51% owned by one or more Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgender.

    Disability-owned Business Enterprises: A small business that is at least 51% owned by one or more with a disability.

    Minority Owned Business: A small business that is at least 51% owned by one or minorities, i.e. African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Pacific-Islander, Asian-Americans, and Native-Americans (American-Indians, Alaskan-Natives, Native-Hawaiians).
