April 21, 2020 – Rodan Energy is excited to announce two new additions to its senior leadership team. Roman Duch joined Rodan as Vice President, Corporate Development, and John Carroll joined as the Managing Director of US Operations. Both John and Roman will be critical to the success of Rodan Energy’s strategic objectives, in particular the expansion of Rodan’s US business and development of its distributed energy resources offering across North America.
John Carroll, Managing Director, US Operations
John Carroll is the Managing Director of Rodan Energy’s US Operations. Based out of Rodan’s US Headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey, John leads all aspects of Rodan’s US business and is a vital member of the company’s executive leadership team. John is actively recruiting clients, staff, and business partners to bring them Rodan’s industry-leading solutions.
John is a veteran of the power and energy markets with over 25 years of experience working for both start-up organizations and Fortune 500 companies. From his list of accomplishments, John has successfully restructured an organization in the utility-scale power distribution market, led a successful start-up microgrid company and secured some of the highest-profile microgrid and EaaS contracts in the US over 4-years, and expanded a solar power start-up focused on secondary distribution energy resources.
John is a retired US Navy Captain having spent a total of 25 years in both active and reserve time in various roles around the globe, at times working closely with the Canadian Armed Forces. He’s a 4-time Commanding Officer and has completed combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. His polished leadership skills and high-energy “can-do” attitude will help Rodan serve the needs of large energy users, power producers, and utilities in the US
John holds a Master of Business Administration from Adelphi University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from SUNY Maritime College.
Roman Duch, Vice President, Corporate Development
Roman Duch is Rodan Energy’s Vice President, Corporate Development. Roman brings close to 25 years of experience in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, and corporate development.
Based out of Rodan’s Canadian Headquarters, Roman is responsible for driving corporate growth through developing and executing Rodan’s strategic initiatives. Specifically, he is focused on securing financing for distributed energy projects and corporate growth objectives, working with Rodan’s business unit leaders to articulate actionable business strategies and identify opportunities for growth, determining and securing acquisition opportunities, and assisting Rodan in developing complex business offerings and finding new markets.
Most recently, Roman was a Portfolio Manager with the private equity group of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan where he was responsible for managing investments for industrial companies globally. Roman sat on numerous boards and worked with management teams of portfolio companies to determine growth initiatives. Before joining Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Roman gained valuable experience as a senior investment banker with Rothschilds and Merrill Lynch as well as a Vice President of Corporate Development with Cosmetica Laboratories and Symcor.
Roman is a graduate of the Honors Business Administration and Master of Business Administration programs at the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
