Rodan Energy Maintains Leadership as the Largest Demand Response Provider in Canada.
MISSISSAUGA, ON Canada – January 6, 2020 – The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) concluded its fifth demand response (DR) auction on December 6, 2019, releasing the results on December 12 for the 2020/21 summer and winter seasons. Rodan is pleased to announce that they continue to maintain a leadership position as the largest DR provider in Canada and will be directly managing over 230 MW of capacity in Ontario for 2020 and 2021.
The average annual clearing price of this year’s auction was $58,725/MW, a 36% decrease since the first auction in 2015, but a 10% increase over the 2018 auction. The auction cleared 858.6 MW for the 2020 summer commitment period and 919.3 MW for the 2020/2021 winter commitment period, which is a slight increase of approximately 5% over the previous year.
