Rodan Energy Solutions has Joined the Green Button Alliance

Rodan Energy Solutions has become a participating member of the Green Button Alliance (GBA). The GBA is a US-based North American group that facilitates the use and adoption of the Green Button standard. The Green Button aims to provide electricity consumers with easy access to information on how they are using energy in their homes and businesses. Consumers can monitor their energy usage to help mitigate energy waste and combat climate change.

The Ontario Ministry of Energy mandated the Green Button data sharing for the province in November 2021. Rodan Energy has been a Green Button pioneer in Ontario and participated in the initial 2013-16 pilot with Ontario utilities London Hydro and Hydro One in both the residential and commercial sectors. Rodan created energy models and provided high-value energy analytics based on Green Button data connectivity standards, Download MyData (DMD), and Connect My Data (CMD).

“With the Green Button, the Ontario government implemented the digitized energy standard for utility data,” says Paul Grod, President and CEO of Rodan Energy. “This type of transparency will make it easy for consumers to know how much energy they’re using on a daily basis to avoid high electricity bills.”

The GBA is a non-profit organization that supports the development, compliance, and adoption of the Green Button standard across the electricity, natural gas, and water markets.
