Yesterday, the government passed legislation to ban door-to-door sales for energy contracts, provide the Ontario Energy Board with more enforcement powers for consumer protection issues, and providing the province with the ability to identify priority projects to ensure that critical transmission infrastructure is built in a timely manner.

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is calling on government to do more to encourage mining development in the province, including in the Ring of Fire. In a report released Tuesday, the chamber says both the province and the federal government need to invest in the struggling mining sector.

The Clarington Board of Trade organized the 7th Annual Clarington Energy Summit, which featured speakers, a site vendor fair and bus tours of the Darlington nuclear power station. An estimated 130 people were at the event, with the highest attendance of refurbishment contractors this year.
